Candiace Dillard Bassett Exits 'Real Housewives Of Potomac' After 6 Seasons

Candiace Dillard Bassett is parting ways with The Real Housewives of Potomac after six seasons.

According to PEOPLE, Dillard Bassett said she won't be returning to the show for its ninth season.

“As I embark on a new chapter after six remarkable years with The Real Housewives of Potomac, I am filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships, personal growth and moments of introspection that have defined this journey,” Dillard Bassett told PEOPLE. With a whirlwind of new opportunities and responsibilities on my plate, I have decided to take a break from RHOP.”

"This is not a farewell, but a ‘see you later,’" she added.

Dillard Bassett first joined RHOP for its third season. The announcement of her departure comes amid the airing of season 8 during which she's been feuding with original cast members Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon.

The season 8 reunion recently filmed, but it's unclear if Dillard Bassett mended fences with the pair.

As she announced her departure, the “Drive Back” singer thanked her fans for their "unwavering support" during her time on Housewives.

“Your unwavering support has been my guiding light, and I look forward to the exciting adventures that lie ahead — and more importantly, sharing them all with you!” Dillard Bassett said.

According to PEOPLE, a source close to production confirmed that Dillard Bassett is leaving the franchise on her own terms.
